Anatomy of the Head and Neck (Left Carotid Artery and Left Facial Nerve)
This courtroom animation shows blood flows up through the carotid arteries and vertebral arteries into the cerebral arteries throughout the brain. Impulses from the left side of the tongue flow to the brainstem via the left facial nerve, left glossopharyngeal nerve and left vagus nerve and continue on through the brain until they reach the gustatory cortex within the lateral sulcus and insula region.
