Cholelithiasis, Cholecystitis, and Choledocholithiasis
This exhibit shows the anterior cross sectional view of the gallbladder comparing cholelithiasis, cholecystitis, and choledocholithiasis. Cholelithiasis is characterized by the presence of gallstones in the gallbladder. Cholecystitis is characterized by the thickening of the gallbladder wall and inflammation of the gallbladder. Choledocholithiasis encompasses the migration of the gallstones into the common bile duct.
