This exhibit presents the anterior view of the progression of a right ankle fracture. The first inset shows the normal normal of the right lower leg and foot highlighting the tibia and fibula. The second inset shows the post-accident condition with a comminuted tibial pilon fracture and a distal fibular fracture. The third inset shows the external fixation with realignment of the fractures. The final inset shows internal fixation using plates and screws.
