This 3D courtroom animation shows the flare line fire that happened at the Valero Refinery in Memphis. The animation introduces the flare line, showing how everything works: gas travels through the flare line and a knockout drum, to the burn off. Next the animation shows what happens when oxygen is introduced during the process, leading to a fire and explosion at the open flange. The last scene repeats the explosion, this time in overhead view allowing the location of employees to be shown.
